As summer winds down, we start to think about back-to-school events.  Assistance League of Northern Virginia invites volunteers from the community and local businesses to join us and our partner, Dominion Energy, to help with our Weekend Food for Kids program.  Each month during the school year we pack and deliver more than 1600 bags of nonperishable food so children have food to eat on the weekends.   The food bags are donated to children who receive free or reduced-priced meals at six Title I elementary schools in Fairfax and Prince William Counties and the City of Alexandria.

Our kickoff event will be Thursday, the 19th of September, 10 AM at the Dominion Energy facility located at 3072 Centreville Rd, Herndon.
