Assistance League of Northern Virginia held a successful informational meeting on October 9th at the Chantilly Regional Library to explain our programs to interested parties. During the event, our members spoke enthusiastically about our ongoing philanthropic programs. They are our Operation School Bell programs comprised of: Weekend Food for Kids, Literacy for Kids, and New Clothing for Kids; and our Operations Hugs program, by which we provide heart-shaped pillows to children who might need comfort when facing a procedure at a clinic that serves families in need. We welcomed seven new members for our organization and are always looking to expand our membership. Those attending the informational meeting were especially interested in our reading/tutoring and weekend food programs and helping with our public relations efforts.
Come join us for our monthly meetings on the third Monday of each month, at the Sully Government Center, at 4900 Stonecroft Boulevard, Chantilly. The meetings start at 10AM and are preceded by a half-hour of socializing with coffee, tea, and snacks. Our next meeting is November 18th.
