Please join the Assistance League of Northern Virginia and our Franklin Farm partners for a three-pronged day of good deeds on Sunday, April 24, from 12 noon to 3 p.m., in the Dairy Lou parking lot, at 13501 Franklin Farm Road, Herndon.
We will again accept your parcels of important papers to shred. The truck will be on hand from noon to 3 pm, or until it is full. We reserve the right to limit quantities. No cardboard, plastic, aluminum, wood, or metal items can be shredded. A donation of $10 or more is suggested; cash or check preferred, credit cards accepted.
In addition, Assistance League is collecting gently used sneakers as part of our ongoing fundraiser, and we will have a drop-off box to receive your athletic shoes. Through our arrangement with GotSneakers? the shoes will be given to those who can’t otherwise afford them. Shoes not suitable for re-use will be recycled as paving materials. Celebrate Earth Day by donating your old sneakers and keeping them out of landfills.
Your contributions to the Assistance League will help ensure that we can continue our philanthropic programs that provide essential items, such as food, clothing, books, toiletries, and reading tutoring, to some of the most vulnerable students in our area.
Additionally, the Franklin Farm Social Committee will collect nonperishable food items that will be donated to the Community of Faith Food Bank. As prices on all commodities continue to rise, this help is even more critical and impactful.
Stop by on April 24 and support three important efforts in a single trip.
