We are very grateful to the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce for including Assistance League of Northern Virginia in its Summer Social & Donation Drive earlier this month. The Chamber’s Community Engagement Council selected our chapter to benefit from its campaign to collect backpacks and school supplies. Chamber members donated more than 580 packages of backpacks and supplies, such as lead pencils, crayons, colored pencils, erasers, folders, glue sticks, notebooks, colored markers, and rulers. Two of our members filled their trunks with the bounteous contributions from the Chamber. Those supplies will be delivered soon to eager elementary school students. We appreciate the Chamber’s generous members and their willingness to help ensure that students at local Title 1 schools have the tools they need to succeed.
In addition to the incredible generosity of Chamber members, we appreciate the opportunity to showcase our programs and events for everyone who attended the Summer Social and to connect with Chamber members and deepen our relationships with local businesses who also want to contribute to the welfare of our community.
