Once again, we are grateful that a Giant Food store has selected Assistance League of Northern Virginia as the beneficiary of its Community Bag Promotion.  Throughout November, we will receive $1 for every special tote bag purchased at the Giant Store at 7501 Huntsman Blvd., Springfield.  Over the past year, many Giant Stores have selected our organization to benefit from both the Community Bag and the Bloomin’ 4 Good campaigns.  Both Assistance League and Giant are committed to reducing food insecurity in our community.  Through our Weekend Food for Kids program, each month during the school year we provide 1720 bags of nonperishable food to students at Title 1 elementary schools so they have nourishment over the weekend. We also provide grocery gift cards for families.

We are an all-volunteer organization that does not receive any federal, state, or local funds.  We are grateful for the continued recognition and financial support from Giant Food
