We are excited to announce that this year, we are celebrating our 20th year as a chapter of the National Assistance League organization. Established first as a guild in 1999 and then formally chartered as a chapter in July 2004, Assistance League of Northern Virginia made a difference in the community right from the start. Two of our first philanthropic programs, Weekend Food for Kids and Hugs Pillows, continue today! Over the years, we’ve added new programs and expanded them, but our over-arching goal has always been to promote the well-being, self-esteem, and education of at-risk youth in our community.

Although Northern Virginia is an affluent area, many in our community experience extreme poverty. Throughout 2024, we will have monthly opportunities for friends and supporters to help us continue our philanthropic programs by purchasing items from our various wish lists.
