Fourteen of our marvelous members gathered recently to thank the Craft Club of Nativity Church, Burke, for donating so many exquisitely hand-crafted items for the students and families we serve.  These dedicated and skilled women not only create and donate their crocheted and knitted items but they also support our mission through contributions.  Elementary school students love the colorful and unique hats and scarves, headbands, and scrunchies we provide them because of the Craft Club. Members of the Craft Club also donate their ‘ever-so-soft’ baby blankets and quilts, as well as baby sweaters and booties that we deliver to new mothers being treated at a clinic for low-income families.

Our members prepared a tantalizing assortment of foods that were festively displayed on the brunch table to evoke a Spring theme.  The reception was meant as a small token of our appreciation for the Craft Club members’ skill and handiwork and their ongoing support of our chapter.  During the lively discussions around the table, our members provided feedback from the schools about how much the Craft Club’s items meant to the students and new moms who received their beautiful creations, and then Club members described how they designed their handiwork.  As a result of the discussions, Craft Club members plan to increase their production of items for the two programs.  Assistance League is honored to be able to provide children and mothers in need in our community with the exquisitely fashioned items that the Nativity Craft Club so generously donates.
