Assistance League member Margaret Greinke accepted numerous honors and accolades from the City and County of Orange, State of California legislators and a Congressional office after being belatedly named 2019 Citizen of the Year by the Orange Chamber of Commerce on October 6 at the State of the City event at the Musco Center at Chapman University. In Margaret’s remarks she name-checked Assistance League of Orange as one of her favorite volunteer organizations because of what it is able to accomplish in the community. She has been a member for over 25 years, and received the Assistance League’s Community Circle Award in 2018 in recognition of her lifelong charitable giving and extensive philanthropic involvement in the local area. She and her late husband Frank H. Greinke founded the Southern Counties Oil Company, now known as SC Fuels, based in Orange.
