Over 30 member volunteers of Assistance League of Orange marched in costume in the City of Orange May Parade on May the 4th (Be With You) and had a blast showing off a choreographed light saber routine and intermittent demonstrations of “fighting” skills.  The parade organizers recognized these efforts with the “Spirit of the Rebellion” award for Best Community Group Entry.

Credit for the group’s parade prowess goes to Angela Fasbender for creating and teaching the choreography, Cindy McCandless for loaning her antique Corvette to accompany the group and blast out the theme music from Star Wars, and Karen Goodwin for organizing the entire effort, which included members from the main adult chapter group as well as representation from both the Assisteens and Orange Blossoms Auxiliaries.
