Recognizing the Achievements of Pasadena Unified Middle School Students
The Very Important Performers (VIP) program celebrates the notable achievements made by selected Pasadena Unified Middle School students. Each of the PUSD middle schools selects one 6th, 7th and 8th grade student to receive the VIP award. Teachers and counselors nominate students who have demonstrated dramatic improvements in academics, attendance, and behavior or made a positive difference in their school environment.
Our PUSD partners reported that most local programs focus only on the achievements of high school or elementary school students. Assistance League of Pasadena decided it was important to support our middle school students as they navigate the critical preteen years. The goal of this VIP program is to encourage middle school students to embrace the educational opportunities presented to them.
