Operation School Bell®

Since 1998, we have provided new school clothing to over 18,000 preschool, elementary, and middle school children in five Coastal North County San Diego school districts.  Since 2005, we have provided new school clothing to over 8,200 children of enlisted military families at Camp Pendleton.

Surviving After Violence (SAV)

SAV provides goods and support in three main areas. Assault Survivor Kits (ASK®), Emotional Support Items, and Life Support Items. Kits consisting of clothing and hygiene are delivered to clothe those in need to leave clothing evidence in the case of assault.  Blankets, weighted stuffed animals. journals, fidget toys, tracfones, shoes, coats, emergency hotel nights, and gift cards for essentials are provided for those who have been traumatized.

Preschool English Literacy Program (PREP)

Collaborating with a local Head Start Program our volunteers provide weekly tutoring to improve math and reading skills.  Since 1998 we have tutored 935 pre-school children.

Knifty Knitters

Our Knifty Knitters’ have been knitting handmade items since 1998, and have provided over 9,000 knitted and crocheted items.  We deliver baby blankets, sweaters, hats and booties to San Diego Naval Hospital and Gently Hugged.

Thrive

A peer support group which allows the continuation of service to kids who have been victimized. We provide them with a “treasure chest” of therapeutic tools and games, sports equipment and more which are used in the meeting and activities.

 

 

Flowers for Seniors

Flowers For You

Flowers For You is our newest program. A local merchant donates flowers and our volunteers arrange them into bouquets, place them in vases and deliver them to several community organizations such as local libraries, teachers, and senior living facilities. We create approximately 45 bouquets to deliver during each event.

Scholarships

Our newest program – Scholarships – was designed to provide financial assistance towards continuing education beyond high school for selected local high school seniors.

GAP

GENERAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (GAP)

A Partner of One Safe Place. We provide new and gently used clothing, hygiene products and essential supplies to Sharia’s Closet located within One Safe Place. These basic supplies must be available at all times to meet the basic needs of clients who are victims of violence and abuse.
