Policies

Inclement Weather Policy – In the case of inclement weather please call our main number–775-329-1584–for notice of delays or closure of our Thrift Shop.

We accept Visa and MasterCard credit/debit cards for all purchases.

We have a “NO RETURN” policy on all items purchased.

Auctions

We host online auctions of our best merchandise five times a year at EstateSales.org. Type in our zip code – 89502. Look for “Best of Reno”. In addition, you can browse our 24/7 auction items at EstateSales.org.

The Thrift Shop is the main source of funding for our eleven philanthropic programs.  It is staffed and managed entirely by our member-volunteers.  We are proud of our reputation as one of the best and friendliest thrift shops in the Reno-Sparks area.  Our members work hard to make sure the merchandise is always of good quality, clean, and priced fairly.  Come see for yourself!

We offer quality merchandise, including a selection of antiques and collectibles, men’s, women’s, and children’s apparel and shoes, books for every age, baby clothes and accessories, sporting goods, toys, housewares, linens, home decor, seasonal items, and jewelry — all at affordable prices.  Our “Boutique” racks contain better clothing lines, some never even worn.

Thrift Shop Donations

Your donations are always appreciated!  Donations are tax-deductible; a receipt will be provided.

Please bring your “gently used” items to the receiving door located at the rear of the Thrift Shop.  Ring the doorbell, wait, and we will assist you in dropping off your items.

For safety reasons, donations are accepted only during business hours.  Please, do NOT leave items outside when we are closed as they will be damaged by the weather.  Unfortunately, we do not have a pick-up service.

DONATION GUIDELINES

Assistance League of Reno-Sparks Thrift Shop gladly accepts new or gently used clothing and merchandise, including furniture. However, please contact our Thrift Shop if you would like to donate larger items.

  • BABY ITEMS:  Baby carriers, Bath seats, Car seats, Playpens, Walkers, Strollers, Cribs, Bumper pads, High chairs
  • SPORTS EQUIPMENT:  Bicycles, Helmets, Roller blades, Exercise machines, Skis, Ski boots, Snowboards, Bowling balls
  • ELECTRONICS:  TELEVISION SETS, Computers or monitors, Printers, Fax Machines, VHS tapes
  • FURNITURE: Mattresses, Bed Pillows, Sleeping Bags, Electric Blankets, Bunk Beds, Hide-a-Beds, Sofas, Upholstered furniture, Refrigerators, Large Appliances, Large Microwaves, Blinds, Curtain rods
  • AUTOMOTIVE:  Car Batteries, Tires, Paint or Chemicals, Halogen Lamps
  • OTHER:  Christmas Trees–accepted during Nov & Dec only, Building materials, Bread machines
