Support Literacy builds literacy skills for young readers in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District in a number of ways.  Our member volunteers have assisted teachers with their literacy programs in kindergarten through 2nd grade classrooms at a local Title 1 elementary school.  Our chapter also underwrites the cost of the books gifted to students at select Title 1 elementary school book fairs.  Our member volunteers assist at these book fairs and share the excitement of children as they choose books they get to keep.  These activities help children develop a rich vocabulary, self-expression, and reading comprehension—tools they need to become successful readers and lifelong learners.
