Creating Educational and Vocational Opportunity
For Local High School Graduates
Assistance League of Saddleback Valley is offering needs-based scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a 4-year college/university, or 2-year community college, or approved technical/professional school. Scholarships will be awarded to qualified graduating seniors from each of the Saddleback Valley Unified School District High Schools: El Toro, Laguna Hills, Mission Viejo, Trabuco Hills, and Silverado. Virtual Academy students are eligible through their home school.
Research has shown that grants and scholarships help students to focus on their coursework, rather than attending school part-time while working part-time jobs to finance their education.
ELIGIBILITY & INSTRUCTIONS
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be enrolled in a Saddleback Valley Unified School District high school. Virtual Academy students may apply through their home school.
- Be a graduating high school senior who will be enrolled at a 4-year college/university, or 2-year community college or an approved technical/trade school for the 2025 academic year
- Have a high school grade point average of 2.0 or above
Instructions/Other Requirements:
- Submit required documents either online or by email at Scholarship@alsvca.org, on or before April 2, 2025, 4PM
- Completed and signed application (online or email)
- Essay (online or email)
- Current, high school transcripts, officially stamped and signed (email only)
- One signed letter of recommendation from a counselor, high school teacher, or an adult non-family member (email only)
- An interview may also be required
- Scholarship funds are limited for educational expenses and must be expended within one calendar year from official award date
Scholarship Award Notification & Payment:
- Scholarship recipient (student) will be notified on or before graduation Awards Night
- Scholarship payment will be made only AFTER student emails official verification of their 2025 enrollment at a 4-year college/university, or 2-year community college, or approved technical/trade school to Scholarship@alsvca.org
