During the month of June, AL of San Jose was finally able to deliver completed layettes to Valley Medical Center!  A total of 867 gifts were dropped off for processing by the maternity ward nurses.  When our blankets are delivered, they are put in individual plastic bags and placed on a shelf (see photo) in quarantine for a week. Then they are taken out of the bags and placed in drawers (see photo) in the maternity ward to be “gifted” to new moms as they are discharged from the hospital. Nurses have commented that being able to select a special layette for each new mom is the best part of their job!
