Assistance League of San Jose joins 120 chapters across the nation to celebrate our National ACTION Week for Literacy. During the school year, the Readers Are Leaders program delivers books to 53 elementary classrooms in San Jose. For each book, every student in the program (almost 1500 students) receives an accompanying reading project created by our RAL volunteers. With the help of Barnes & Noble, we have also delivered over 2,000 books and educational games to our other community programs. Readers today…Leaders tomorrow!
