38 years ago, in 1984 before Chapter Status, the women of Assistance Guild of San Jose had a goal to transform the lives of children and adults through community projects, which we now call programs. They began with two projects devoted to assisting area residents to a better and safer life: fingerprinting children and providing comfort and safety for seniors. The goal continues today and stands as the mission of AL of San Jose.
