Established 1998

Residents in nursing and convalescent homes often don’t have many activities to encourage integration with other patients or visitors, or to keep their minds active. Each month Assistance League of San Jose members assist residents while playing Bingo at San Jose’s A Grace Sub Acute & Skilled Care and at Stonebrook Health and Rehabilitation. Assistance League of San Jose members organize the game and provide many cherished prizes including handmade blankets, toiletries, jewelry, and children’s items for grandchildren. During holidays blended voices, those of the residents and of the volunteers, can be heard over the roof tops as they joyfully sing seasonal songs. Click here to learn about the history of Bingo.

I think Bingo may be the most needed of our programs. Sometimes, we are the only visitors these people see.
