This program provides a flexible, rapid-response strategy by which Assistance League of Santa Monica can respond to specific community needs that do not fit within currently existing programs and that can be addressed on a one-time-only basis. This program further provides opportunities to increase Assistance League’s exposure in the local and national communities, identify an array of unmet needs for potential development of future stand-alone programs, and attract volunteers interested in the expanded diversity of responses to community needs.
Recently we have provided meals through food banks responding to the California and Maui Wildfires and to hurricane victims in North Carolina. We are also providing a day-long college information program for Palisades High School students who are unable to participate in after-school college information sessions.
