Philanthropic Programs
Assistance League of San Fernando Valley’s members are ambassadors for the less fortunate. Our goal is to better the human condition. Countless hours are spent planning programs to raise the funds necessary to reach our philanthropic goals.
OPERATION SCHOOL BELL® Students identified by their schools as children in need receive new shoes and socks. Emergency hygiene kits and new clothing are distributed by the school nurses and personal dictionaries are given to all 3rd grade students.
Operation School Bell helps children remain in the classroom by providing them with needed new items and gives them a chance to succeed.
HYGIENE KITS FOR THE HOMELESS The homeless are provided with personal hygiene kits, which are distributed by two local churches that offer them showers.
BEAR BUDDIES Cuddly teddy bears are supplied to family crisis centers law enforcement agencies and fire stations to bring comfort to children and teens in traumatic situations.
Assault Survivor Kits® New clothing to wear home is given to victims who have been sexually assaulted. Law enforcement officials must keep victims’ clothing for evidence as required by law.
Kids Kits This program provides activity kits to preschool children through age 12 who are awaiting treatment at Northridge Hospital Medical Center’s Pediatric Trauma Center.
Senior Multi-Interest Leisure Enrichment (S.M.I.L.E.) provides professional entertainment and refreshments to residents at Fallbrook Glen of West Hills.
