Assistance League recently received two new grants to further our philanthropic work.

The Benevolent Fund of Cascades Presbyterian Church awarded $2500 for Assault Survivor Kits we place in the three local hospital emergency departments. The grant came just as one of the hospitals asked us to begin donating kits for men in addition to the ones for women and children. When survivors of assault are treated at the hospitals, law enforcement agencies often keep their clothing as evidence. The kits provide them with new clothing and toiletries so that they can leave with dignity and begin the healing process.

The Clark County Association of Realtors awarded $1100 to initiate our new Share a Bear program. Soft stuffed bears will be given by first responders to children in traumatic and scary situations.
