Philanthropic Programs Final Report for 2023-2024

Goal:  Ensure that all philanthropic programs demonstrate measurable annual outcomes against objectives.

Operation School Bell
We clothed 1,730 students at our regular dressings for Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore and Menifee School Districts at Kohl’s and Target stores.  Each student received up to $125 in tax free school appropriate clothing of their choice.  Our Assisteens clothed 75 students in the Romoland School District with a bag and deliver method, bringing our final total to 1805.

Chapters for Children
In conjunction with 6 other chapters we provided gift cards for clothing to children residing at Camp Pendleton.  Our Chapter provided 234 boys with Target gift cards to purchase pants for the school year.  Our Assisteens wrote individual notes to the families thanking them for their service.

Save Our Students (SOS)
SOS made deliveries of clothing, hygiene items, hats and books to Head Start programs in our service area to 271 children.

Foster/Homeless Youth
We were able to provide services to 718 children from infants to high school students  This included the ever popular Christmas Giving Tree Program in December.  We also worked with Kamali’i Foster Family Agency and were able to provide essentials for transitional apartments that they have for those coming out of the foster system.

Scholarships
We provided teacher grants to 27 teachers in Temecula, Menifee and Romoland which touched 16,185 students this year alone.  35 graduating seniors received $1,000 scholarships and 18-$2,000 scholarships funded by Loma Linda University hospital have been provided for those going back to school or struggling to afford school.  Total served is 16,265.

Bear Hug
This program provided 5,085 teddy bears to local hospitals to comfort children being treated.  We also give bears to TIP (Trauma Intervention Program) and the Elizabeth Hospice.

Nonprofit Partnership
This committee provided a variety of services to the 14 groups we have agreements with as well as all school districts.  This included $100 ALDI “Food Only” gift cards, gas cards, new shoes, snacks and school supplies.  We provided Western Eagle vouchers as well as our own AL vouchers.  Our meeting room exceeded the projected goal for this year by over 1,500 hours of use.  Altogether this program served 2104 persons.

5 Points
Using Kohl’s Cash we provided emergency clothing to all 5 school districts, support for ADV and Transitional housing and helped 1,553.  With extra funds we have purchased playground equipment such as a variety of balls, jump ropes, hula hoops and more for elementary schools in Romoland and Lake Elsinore, serving 7,000 students.  Total served:  8,553.

Assisteens
The Assisteens have supported our Philanthropic Programs all year while still working on their own projects.  They have supported preschool programs with books, activities and goodie bags, purchased shoes and clothing for Romoland students, provided cleaning kits for mothers leaving the shelter, care packages for the military and stuffed backpacks for foster students in Menifee. Through their programs they have helped 1,666 persons.
