During the fall 2022-23 semester,  Assistance League’s Teacher Grant Program awarded grants of up to $500 to Murrieta and Lake Elsinore teachers. Our teacher grants provide learning activities to students in grades T-K through 12 that cannot be funded by the school districts.
     Sarah Caskey, a 2^nd grade teacher at Buchanan Elementary School  in Murrieta, was awarded a grant to enrich student understanding of art. She purchased lessons   from the educational website “Deep Space Sparkle”. This website offers art lessons that provide students with techniques, styles, and the opportunity to use different art tools.
     January’s art activity took Ms. Caskey’s  second grade students  four days to complete. The  2^nd graders  learned how to blend, use pastels, create textures, and be creative.  The children will begin another art lesson in February. This  project will impact 125 students at Buchanan Elementary School.
