Assisteens, our junior auxiliary, encourages and provides volunteer opportunities for young people in grades 7 through 12. The goals are to develop a sense of community responsibility, self-reliance, personal responsibility, poise, public speaking and leadership skills. Assisteens volunteer at the thrift shop in exchange for budgeted funds to use for their philanthropic programs that benefit their community.
Assisteens has a monthly meeting the second Wednesday of each month in which they discuss upcoming events and how they can help the community. The meetings start with an ‘ice breaker’ activity, followed by the business meeting, then Assisteens work on a philanthropic program project.
Meetings are held in the Assistance League chapter room adjacent to the Assistance League Thrift Shop, 28720 Via Montezuma, Temecula 92591 at 6:30pm. Visitors are welcome to meetings.
